Chief Instructor – Renshi John Michell

Sensei John founded Seishin Ju-Jitsu in 2015 and in that time, despite the pandemic, the club has gone from strength to strength.

Brief Bio – Sensei John

• 1996 Trained  at Total Self Defence for 18 years, achieving the grade of 4th Dan
• 2014 Ju-Jitsu Instructor at Phoenix Ju-Jitsu
• 2015 Co-founder and Chief Ju-Jitsu Instructor at Seishin Ju-Jitsu
• 2016 Gained 5th Dan by Hanshi Stephen Chan (9th Dan)
• 2023 Gained 6th Dan by Kenpo Jutsu Alliance GB
  
• 2024 Inducted into E.U.S.A.I.M.M.A. Black Belt Hall of Fame
• 2024 Rank and Proficiency Internationally Recognised
• Instructs at UK and International Seminars
• Certified First Aider and DBS checked
• S.A.M.A. Qualified Senior Coach

Under Renshi John’s direction, the club now operates twice a week with an adult membership of 20+ students.

Private one to one tuition is available in Ju-Jitsu and street self-defence. Small group private tuition is also available to industry sectors such as corporate business, schools, NHS and women’s groups

Sensei Carla Joaquim

• 2006 Started Ju-Jitsu at Total Self Defence (achieving the grade of Green Belt in 2010)
  
• 2015 Co-founder, Assistant Instructor & trusted senior student at Seishin Ju-Jitsu
• 2023 Graded to 1st Dan Black Belt
• 2023 Member of E.U.S.A.I.M.M.A. (Eastern USA International Martial Arts Association)
  
• 2024 Founder & Main Instructor of our ‘Women Only’ Ju-Jitsu Class
