Brown Belt Grading: Carla Dec 2019
It was a very proud moment not just for myself but for our club also, as we welcomed our first brown belt today.
Carla has been working very hard on her brown belt syllabus over the last 2 years, and even so, had to be forced into taking this grading, as she is always wanting more time, in her strife for more understanding and her constant attempt at bettering her technique, which is a testament to her humility, perseverance and dedication.
The grading lasted an hour and a half and incorporated all of her brown belt syllabus plus ad-hoc extractions from all back syllabi, – and on all, Carla showed in-depth knowledge, fantastic controlled aggression, and extremely good stamina. This is a wonderful milestone for our club, and I am pleased to say the bar has been set very high indeed! – But then again, I would not expect any less from Carla! Her grading went extremely well, and I am so proud of her!
We thank the ukes for their support, without whom this could not have taken place, and we thank Nicolle Rose Photography for the fantastic memories from the night. Can’t wait for the next stage!
