2024 International Kempo Jutsu Alliance Seminar
The Shuren Bash 2024 ? Ireland continued the tradition of one of the most respected international martial arts gatherings in Europe.
Held every two years, the Shuren Bash is organised by Hanshi Keith Moughton of Shuren Ryu Martial Arts in association with the International Kenpo Jutsu Alliance (IKJA). The event welcomes martial artists from across England, Ireland and further afield to train together in an atmosphere of friendship, respect and continuous learning.

Unlike many traditional competitions or graded events, the Shuren Bash encourages participants to leave rank and style at the door. Students and instructors train side by side, sharing ideas, techniques and experiences across numerous martial arts disciplines including Kempo, Japanese Ju-Jitsu, Karate and practical self-defence systems.
This open approach creates an enjoyable environment where everyone, regardless of experience, has the opportunity to learn from some of the most respected instructors in the martial arts community.
The seminar regularly features internationally recognised instructors including Master John Ward of Dublin, Master Des McMeniman of Derry, together with Hanshi Keith Moughton from London. Each instructor brings decades of practical knowledge and a unique perspective, ensuring that every training session offers something new for students of all backgrounds.
Beyond the excellent martial arts tuition, the Shuren Bash is also recognised for its charitable ethos. Previous seminars have raised valuable funds for local causes, including children's hospitals and community charities, reinforcing the martial arts values of compassion, respect and service.
The Irish Shuren Bash once again demonstrated that martial arts are about far more than technique?they are about building friendships, supporting worthy causes and strengthening the international martial arts community.
